The PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor is the first instructor level in the PADI system. As certified Open Water Scuba Instructor you are allowed to teach PADI Scuba Divers, Open Water Divers, Adventure Divers, Advanced Open Water Divers, Rescue Divers and Divemasters. This of course in addition to the programs a Divemaster or Assistant Instructor can already teach.

Everyone who wants to become PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor has to pass an IDC (Instructor Development Course) and an IE (Instructor Examination). In the Instructor Examination you have to fulfil teaching assignments, proof your knowledge of the PADI system and show adequate diving skills and theory knowledge. The IDC prepares the candidate for the IE:

Our IDC is scheduled in a way that there will be a day off in between. On this day off the participants have the chance to become Emergency First Response Instructor (EFRI).
